- Story Text: Top pop queen Geri Halliwell gave her fans a treat as she turned up at a London record store to sign copies of her new album, Scream If You Wanna Go Faster. Although she is riding high in the charts with "It's Raining Men", Geri has still found the time for a new venture....politics! Geri Halliwell seems to have finally shaken off the old image of Ginger Spice, and has proved her detractors wrong with massive success as a solo artist. Her current single, "It's Raining Men" is at the top of the UK charts and features on the soundtrack of the hit movie, Bridget Jones' Diary, her new album, "Scream If You Want To go Faster" is expected to sell upwards of 50,000 copies in it's first week of release in the UK.
But at a London record store, with her new slim-line figure displayed to full effect, Geri faced more questions about her political allegiance than her music...on record as calling Mrs. Thatcher the original Spice Girl with their rally-cry of "Girl Power", Geri has now come out in support of Tony Blair, appearing in a party political broadcast for the Labour Party as part of their election campaign...and with Mr Blair's musical past, maybe one day he'll return the favour and help out on her next album!. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
