- Story Text: Usain Bolt says he is happy with his run as he clocks wind-assisted 9.77 over 100 metres in Ostrava.
Triple Olympic gold medallist and world record holder Usain Bolt clocked a wind-assisted 9.77 seconds over 100 metres at the IAAF Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava on Wednesday (June 17).
Bolt, who set a world record of 9.69 seconds in the Beijing final last year, was assisted by a following wind of 2.1 metres a second.
"It was a good race overall, I think I did pretty well, the win was illegal but it was a good race I am happy with myself," said Jamaican sprinter.
Bolt was slowest out of the blocks but stormed to victory. He finished more than a quarter of a second ahead of his closest pursuer Craig Pickering.
"I got a really poor start. It was fast one this time and it caught me of guard. It is a part of life sometimes you get it sometimes you don't, so I am feeling confident so I am good," said the 22-year-old.
Bolt was yet again stand-out performer and entertained the Czech crowd at the sold out Mestsky stadium.
"Yeah I am always going to be like this, I really enjoy track and field, I enjoy performing for the people they give me their love so I am just showing some love also," the world's fastest man said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
