- Story Text: Pakistani Airforce planes were busy landing on the runway of Muzaffarabad's small airport on Thursday (October 13). The terminal building once taking passengers to other airports has now turned into a small size hospital with mobile x-ray, a mini operation room and even a gynaecologist. Pakistani Airforce Squadron Leader Doctor Kausar Aurangzeb and her colleagues try to help patients coming to the hospital from many villages. Aurangzeb says it is really important for her to help her own people, in any way she can. "Seeing the misery of this people is really terrible because, you see, as a human being and as a doctor, I can feel more patiently for these people who are suffering so much," says Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb, who has been a doctor for 18 years, smiles when her age is asked. She says Wednesday (October 12) was her birthday and it was the best ever. "Actually it was my birthday yesterday, and I was here and I think I have never spent a better birthday in the sense that I was serving somebody." Wounded Pakistanis are being loaded on to Airforce planes to be transferred to other hospitals in Islamabad after their first treatment is complete. Doctors in Muzaffarabad's small airport hospital have no time to stop, just like many others working under tents in field hospitals in the region.
