- Story Text: Muslim and Serb Bosnians followed Slobodan Milosevic's funeral on Saturday (March 18), watching on television screens in Sarajevo and Serbian enclaves across the country.
In the capital Sarajevo, widows of the Srebrenica massacre watched the funeral of the man nicknamed "The butcher of the Balkans" and said justice will never be done.
"Slobodan Milosevic, who was a criminal equal to Hitler, does not deserve such attention. Ten years later, people should have realised that he was a criminal," said Subasic Munira, president of the Association of Women from Srebrenica.
In the Serb-dominated town of Pale, Bosnian Serbs watched television coverage of the funeral and mourned for their former leader.
In Bjeljina, crowds gathered to demonstrate against Bosnia's current genocide case against Serbia being held in the International Court.
"This rally today in Bjeljina is organised against the illegal and illegitimate lawsuit of Bosnia and Herzegovina against Serbia and Montenegro and this demonstration is proof that Bosnian authorities together with some mentors from abroad want to recreate the chaos in Bosnia and Herzegovia," said Branislav Dukic, who organised the demonstration.
Those attending rallied support for Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic, who top the United Nations war crimes tribunal's most-wanted list, saying they would never surrender their heroes. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
