- Story Text: Disgraced veteran entertainer Rolf Harris, a household name in his native Australia and adopted home Britain appeared in person at a London court on Monday (May 22) after he was released from jail last week.
He is being retried on three historic sex offence charges as well as one new offence.
Harris, 87, previously appeared via video-link whilst serving his prison sentence.
Harris was jailed in 2014 for repeatedly abusing young girls over decades when he was a popular host on children's television.
He is the most high-profile figure to have been convicted since British police launched a major inquiry into celebrity sex crimes, following revelations in 2012 that late BBC TV host Jimmy Savile had been a prolific child abuser.
Queen Elizabeth stripped Harris, who once painted the monarch's portrait, of a royal honour she herself had awarded him. - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
