- Story Text: Partners of G7 leaders were treated to a helicopter tour of Sicily on Friday (May 26) as the summit kicked off in Taormina.
Canada's Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, Japan's Akie Abe, Italy's Manuela Gentiloni, France's Brigitte Trogneux and Germany's Joachin Sauer were taken to view Mount Etna, Europe's tallest and most active volcano which has seen significant activity this year.
They returned to Catania for a reception in the town hall where America's Melania Trump joined them and later were due to visit some archeological sites including the Greek Theatre and the Benedictine Monastery.
Leaders from the world's major industrialised nations began talks on Friday which are expected to expose deep divisions with U.S. President Donald Trump over trade and climate change. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
