- Story Text:The current cooperation between OPEC and non-OPEC nations will outlive the present oil output cut deal, OPEC Secretary-General Mohammad Barkindo said on Wednesday (May 31).
"We believe that this cooperation is in the best interests of not only producers but also consumers and by extension - the global economy," Barkindo said on a visit to Moscow. "We are putting in place if you like the building blocks for a Catholic marriage. We do not expect a divorce in this marriage."
The preliminary dates for the next meeting of an OPEC/non-OPEC monitoring committee are July 22-24, and the meeting is to take place in Russia, Russia's Energy Minister Alexander Novak said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
