- Story Text: Malaysian Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein called for a "counter narrative" in the fight against Islamic State in Singapore on Saturday (June 3).
Kuala Lumpur started the King Salman Centre for International Peace which opened a few days ago to "rectify the perception of international community on Islam" according to local media.
Hishammuddin made the comments at a security forum, the Shangri-La dialogue in Singapore.
U.S. Secretary of State Jim Mattis made the opening speech on Saturday and also said "extremist groups" must be defeated not only in Iraq and Syria but also in Southeast Asia. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
