- Story Text: Former Mexican President Vicente Fox slammed Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday (June 4) after he stopped to greet a group of Venezuelan demonstrators in Leon.
Fox said Maduro and his predecessor, Hugo Chavez, had destroyed Venezuela's economy and forced people into hunger.
Two months of protests against Maduro's government, as opposition supporters demand elections, freedom for jailed activists, and foreign humanitarian aid, have convulsed the South American OPEC nation.
Venezuelans living in Leon said they came out to support their fellow citizens back home in Venezuela.
Fox also had choice words for U.S. President Donald Trump whom he has slammed in the past.
Fox criticized Trump for pulling out of the Paris Climate Accords last week, calling him a populist and a demagogue who was destroying his country. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
