00.17.47 PRESENTING AWARD TO MANDELA BY ???? Madiba we're presenting this award to you, we recognise when it comes to human rights you're an icon, the way you've lived your life the way you've inspired millions of South Africans and millions of people across the world and without a doubt the way you will continue to remain an icon forever, made it very easy for us to decide on who the appropriate recipient should be of this first ever Duma Nokwe Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to you with humility, because we are in awe of your amazing achievements as a man as a Sourth African and we are proud to have walked in the same land that you have.
00.18.26 MANDELA RESPONDING [HIS VOICE VERY HOARSE] It's an honour for me to have received this award, but Duma Nokwe was the first black advocate in this country, to be more acurate, African advocate.
00.18.40 And he did very well because at the same time Walter Sisulu was banned as Secretary general of the ANC, Duma Nokwe became the Secretary General and he did very well ..

00.20.36 MANDELA REACTING TO SONG OF MBONGENI MGEMA [WHO IS BEING ACCUSED THAT A SONG HE WROTE IS RACIST - IT EXPLAINS THE CONFLICT BETWEEN ZULUS & INDIANS IN EIGTHIES IN SA] I haven't heard the words but if what the press says were the words that's unfortunate because minorities throughout the world right down the centuries, they get worried when there is a transformation from an old to a new dispensation. Words of that nature aggravate their concern. I hope that a man like Mbongeni Ngema - who has done very well for liberation in this country, will be able to adjust that and there is nothing which is better than to apologise to the community for that.
00.22.08 MANDELA COMMENTING ON BANTU HOLOMISA - TO APPROACH HIM TO JOIN THE ANC - HE HAS VERY GOOD QUALITIES OF LEADERSHIP
00.22.59 At this time in our history it's necessary to get people around President Mbeki to strengthen his hand and it is in that spirit that I want to talk to him.
00.23.16 CUTAWAYS
00.23.28 RESPONDING TO COSAS DESTRUCTIVE MARCH LAST WEEK - ANC YOUTH LEAGUE HAS CONDEMNED COSAS - UNFORTUNATE WHAT HAPPENED - TO GO ON A RAMPAGE AS THEY DID AND TO TAKE PROPERTY FROM POOR PEOPLE THE HAWKERS WAS TOTALLY UNFORTUNATE AND IT HAS TO BE CONDEMNED IN THE STRONGEST TERMS. Responsible young people who are going to be our future leaders do not behave like that and all of us are disappointed by that.
