00.34.24 MANDELA ...as you know I have decided to step down as president of the ANC in December next year but seeing how young he is I'm just wondering whether I should not step down now...LAUGHTER...
00.34.43 ...it is one of the most satisfying visits to me because the Labour Party has been one of our strongest supporters...
00.36.21 TONY BLAIR ...we want to continue to do everything we can to help in the reconstruction of New SA & we congratulate the President...
00.37.30 MANDELA REAX. ACQUITTAL OF MALAN: We have to accept the decsion of the Court. Courts every where in the world reach conclusions on the basis of the evidence that has been placed before them & if the evidence is not conclusive, it is the duty of the judge to acquit the accused. I have confidence in the judiciary & I'm a politician and I am guided by their decision.
00.38.14 I will not interfere in the judicial process & if we are going to entranch a democratic gov in this country, we must respect the institutions of gov and the judiciary is a very imporatnt arm of gov and if a judge has taken a decision it is our duty to accept that decision.
00.38.37 We were not in Court....the judge has had all those opportunities & I fully accept the decision of the Court.
00.38.59 TONY: I simply wanted to say from the British Labour Party that we would do everything we can, both in Opposition and if we are elected in government to help further the cause of progress here...
