Story Text: U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko reinforced bilateral ties during a meeting at the Pentagon on Tuesday (June 20). Mattis assured Poroshenko of continued U.S. support "in the face of threats to sovereignty, to international law or to the international order."
Earlier in the day, Poroshenko met with U.S. President Trump in talks that the White House said was about ways to resolve peacefully the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
