- Story Text: A group of religious leaders on a European tour of recent Islamist attack sites arrived in Berlin on Sunday (July 9).
Imams from various countries including France, Belgium, Britain and Tunisia - as well as representatives from other religious communities - arrived by bus from France and visited the site of the Dec. 19 attack in which Anis Amri killed 12 people when the truck he hijacked ploughed into a busy Christmas market.
Leading French imam Hassen Chalghoumi reiterated that Muslims needed to make clear that they say "no to terrorism and no to hate, no to barbarism."
German protestant bishop Markus Droege said Muslims should be more open about what they believe in and called the imams' visit "a beginning". - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
