I think this film is about empathy, it's about what happens when any group of people, humans or apes - we're using apes to tell a human story. But it's the perils of lack of empathy and we live in a world that is sadly getting closer to reaching a tipping point of not being able to empathize with other cultures, other people, people of different color, people of different belief systems, different species - you know, the way that we relate to the planet. Without being sort of topical and satirical in a Saturday Night Live kind of way, these movies exist still because it's in the DNA of the original 'Plant of the Apes' movies that they're social commentary as well as being grand entertainment. So they will always, by definition, always have something to say about the human condition."

- Story Text:The cast of "War for the Planet of the Apes" celebrated the final film in the rebooted film series on the red carpet in New York on Monday (July 10).
The movie will hit U.S. cinemas on July 14th promising an action-packed conclusion to a trilogy that has garnered both critical acclaim and box office receipts.
"War for the Planet of the Apes" sees motion-capture performance specialist Andy Serkis return in his role as Caesar, leader of a super-intelligent band of apes who take on an army led by Woody Harrelson's ruthless colonel in a post-apocalyptic setting.
The original "Planet of the Apes" spawned a five-film series that ran from 1968 to 1973. The first film, an arresting science fiction classic that starred Charlton Heston, won an Oscar for its prosthetic make-up effects and was a critical and commercial hit, but the subsequent movies struggled to replicate the original's success. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
