- Story Text: Latin America´s largest fashion week wrapped up in Sao Paulo on Friday (April 29), as one of the first events of its kind in the world to unveil upcoming Summer 2017 collections.
Playing on the theme of "Hands Worthy of Gold," the 41st edition of Sao Paulo Fashion Week celebrates the human capacity to reinvent and create anew.
Featured designer, Patricia Bonaldi, for example told Vogue that Brazil is living in such a pessimistic moment that she decided to pay homage to all its greatest things - color, art, joy.
This was seen in Wagner Kallieno's opening show replete with a carnival sheen on panels of sequin mesh.
"We can see a lot of transparency, beautiful mesh, Samuel Cirnansck, side cuts, a lot of stripes, so I think this is what is going to be really popular, maxi-everything, maxi-necklaces, maxi-earrings will be back in force, and our summer is going to be full of really great things," said fashion blogger, Carol Brum.
Vibrant colours were also harmonised with earthy tones in the Gig Couture collection.
"On the catwalk we saw a lot of colours from the Pantone scale, light blues and pinks, but we also saw a lot of orange which is not so normal and is very cool," said fashionista, Izabela Paiva.
The Fashion Week ran since Monday in Sao Paulo's Ibirapuera Park. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
