- Story Text: Jedis and Stormtroopers brought some intergalactic fun to central Taipei on Thursday (May 4) as dozens of fans in costumes celebrated Star Wars Day and the 40th anniversary of the sci-fi film franchise.
In Taiwan's capital, fans of the movie series took the day off from work to pose for photos at city landmarks.
This year's event featured a light sabre fight at a shopping mall with a giant orb that resembles the Death Star, according to organisers.
This year is the 40th anniversary of the original 1977 film starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, who died last year and is best known for playing Princess Leia. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
