It's just that I think it's so diffused now, so spread out that sometimes you go through rather sulkily going 'Oh there's nothing on television tonight'. What? Look again." ACTOR CUBA GOODING, JR. Everywhere you look you have got the experience of Sophie Okenedo and Keeley Hawes and Dame Judi Dench. I mean you can't go far wrong when you're surrounded by talent like that and it's just inspiring to be on the set with those people so yes hard but great fun." (Reporter: What is the thing you're most proud when you look back at recent years?) "My family. Yes, definitely my family." ACTRESS CLAIRE FOY, NOMINATED FOR LEADING ACTRESS FOR THE CROWN, BEING INTERVIEWED (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTRESS CLAIRE FOY, SAYING: "It's incredibly well made, I think, the standards of it are so high. Everything about it - all the heads of department, all the costume, make-up, all the directors, all the DoPs were of the highest order, they're just extraordinary. So, I think it's that thing of if you get amazing people to make things you hope to get something amazing out at the end." ACTOR JARED HARRIS FROM THE CROWN BEING INTERVIEWED (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTOR JARED HARRIS, ON THE SUCCESS OF THE CROWN, SAYING: "It has an emotional approach to their story and to their life that I think people weren't expecting. They get that insight, you know." (Reporter: And people love the British royal family?) "I know, they do. Everywhere you go that's true. I don't know why (laughing)." Well I think he's just got to keep working hard to get his message out. It's too late to be changing the policies now. He is who he is. He's got to go out there and say 'Trust me I am who I am'. The public decides in elections, not politicians or pundits, there's a vote in a few weeks' time and then we will see where we are." - Story Text: Some of British television's most famous faces attended a rain-soaked red carpet in London on Sunday (May 14), with actress Joanna Lumley receiving a fellowship - the academy's highest accolade.
Speaking about the award the Absolutely Fabulous star said: "Honoured beyond belief. I feel as though maybe there might be a mistake."
Although Netflix's The Crown, starring Clarie Fox and Jared Harris, had gone into the awards with the highest number of nominations, in the end it lost out in all categories.
Benedict Cumberbatch also lost out in the best actor category for his role in 'Hollow Crown: War of the Roses' to actor Adeel Akhtar for the BBC show 'Murdered by My Father'.
Former Labour politician turned reality TV star Ed Balls also hit the red carpet after his starring role in 'Strictly Come Dancing' and offered some words of advice to embattled Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
"Well I think he's just got to keep working hard to get his message out. It's too late to be changing the policies now. He is who he is. He's got to go out there and say 'Trust me I am who I am'," he said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
