- Story Text: T.O.P, a member of South Korea's boy band Big Bang, was found guilty on Thursday (July 20) of using illicit drugs after he was indicted for smoking marijuana in June.
The Seoul Central District Court sentenced Choi Seung-hyun - his real name - to 10 months in prison, suspended for 2 years, adding that the decision had considered all factors including Choi's admittance of guilt.
Choi was indicted without detention last month for the use of the banned substance four times during October 2016 with a trainee singer at his home in the capital Seoul.
T.O.P told reporters he was "truly sorry" for letting people down, and that he would carry out all given responsibilities. - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
