- Story Text: Music star Ed Sheeran deleted his Twitter account on Monday (July 17), a day after his cameo the new series of 'Game of Thrones' was derided by some on the social media platform.
Sheeran had a small role in the highly anticipated opening episode of the sex-and-swords series, playing a singing soldier who encounters Arya Stark, one of the programme's central characters.
Sheeran's appearance was branded "absolutely terrible", by user @george_mckillop, while @gothita said that it had "ruined my life". Even business magazine Forbes published an online article saying that his appearance was "a mistake".
The singer, whose "Divide" album topped the charts in the United States earlier in July, has been vocal about his dislike for the platform recently, telling Britain's Sun newspaper that it was "nothing but people saying mean things". - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
