- Story Text: Dozens of boats were damaged on Friday (July 21) when a small tsunami struck Turkey's Gumbet Marina following a powerful earthquake in the Aegean Sea.
In the resort area, near Bodrum, 60 boats were dragged along and damaged by the water surge, CNN Turk said. Turkey's Kandilli Observatory, which monitors earthquakes and tsunamis, said the wave reached 10cm in height.
Officials said that at least two people were killed and scores injured when an earthquake struck near Major Turkish and Greek tourist destinations.
Turkey's disaster and emergency management authority, AFAD, said the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.3, with its epicentre 11 km (7 miles) from the nearest settlement, the village of Camlik. Other reports put the quake magnitude at 6.7. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
