- Story Text: Swiss police said on Tuesday (July 25) a chainsaw-wielding loner who stormed an insurance office in the medieval town of Schaffhausen, wounding two staff members, may have crossed the border into Germany.
Police still do not know how the suspect, identified as 50-year old Franz Wrousis, a drifter with a criminal record, escaped after the attack, but the canton borders Germany, triggering the involvement of the German police.
Reinforced by teams from other cantons, police with search hounds hunted all of Tuesday, widening the area of the investigation.
The police said they do not know if the suspect still had the chainsaw used in the attack, but warned residents he could still be armed and dangerous. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
