- Story Text: A witness to the arrest of the man suspected of ramming a group of soldiers with a car in a Paris suburb told Reuters on Wednesday (August 9) "there were bangs everywhere" during the police operation to apprehend the man.
A judicial source said the unarmed suspect was arrested on a motorway in northern France, where a major police operation unfolded around a BMW vehicle.
One policeman was injured by a stray bullet in the operation.
The suspect is believed to have accelerated into troops near their base in Levallois-Perret, injuring six soldiers. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
