- Story Text: The cast of the new coming-of-age film, "The Only Living Boy in New York" celebrated the movie's opening with a red carpet premiere in Manhattan on Monday (August 7).
The film is equal parts love and mystery as it is centered around British actor Callum Turner who plays Thomas Webb, a recent college grad that begins a relationship with his father's mistress, played by Kate Beckinsale.
On the red carpet Beckinsale said the way people view mistresses has been interesting: "Everyone's asking me about, 'oh, what's it like playing this woman?' Their never asking Pierce what's it like playing a man who's cheating on his wife because that's almost somehow given."
Veteran actor Jeff Bridges' spoke on the similarities to the 1967 film, "The Graduate," but said this film has the added element of mystery.
The film opens in select U.S. theaters on August 11. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
