- Story Text: A delegation of Kenyan NASA opposition party officials was pushed back by police as they tried to arrive in Kibera, Nairobi, to meet their supporters on Saturday (August 12).
NASA, The National Super Alliance coalition led by Raila Odinga, have rejected the results of the election that confirmed Uhuru Kenyatta as president on Friday (August 11) calling the electoral process a "charade".
Since then sporadic clashes have erupted in different parts of the country in Odinga strongholds like the slum area of Kibera in Nairobi.
The Interior Minister said the situation was largely calm and under control.
Officials and witnesses said Kenyan police had killed at least 11 people in a crackdown on protests at Kenyatta's re-election. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
