- Story Text:Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam said Hong Kong would explore development fields and industries with opportunities created by Belt and Road on Tuesday (August 22).
Unveiled in 2013, the Belt and Road project is aimed at building a modern-day "Silk Road", connecting China by land and sea to Southeast Asia, Pakistan and Central Asia, and beyond to the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
Lam made the speech at the Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of Hong Kong Special Region gala banquet in Shanghai.
