- Story Text: Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney warned of a potential "extraordinary negative impact" of Brexit on the island of Ireland on Monday (September 4).
Coveney travelled to Brussels to meet the EU's Brexit Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier, a few days after talks between Barnier and his British counterpart David Davis resumed talks on Britain's exit of the European Union.
After the four days of talks last week, Barnier said Britain's withdrawal negotiations with the EU failed to make the kind of progress needed to move into a new phase in October, but there was some progress on border arrangements on Ireland, he and Davis said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
