- Story Text: International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach arrived in Lima on Thursday (September 07) ahead of the Olympic body's session in Peru, with the 2024 and 2028 host cities of the Games on the agenda.
Paris and Los Angeles are vying for hosting rights for the 2024 and 2028 Olympics, with both cities set to lay out their cases for holding the Games. A report on preparations for Tokyo 2020 will also be tabled.
But a corruption scandal surrounding Rio's 2016 bid is threatening to overshadow the meeting. Earlier this week Brazilian investigators raided properties as part of corruption investigations and the head of Brazil's Olympic Committee Carlos Nuzman has had his passport seized.
