SEQUENCE OF 110 METRE HURDLER, DAMIEN GREAVES, BEING MASSAGED BY TEAM PHYSIOTHERAPIST MARK BUCKINGHAM. 2. NATURAL SOUND COACH SPEAKING WITH PHYSIOTHERAPIST 3. SEQUENCE OF GREAVES AND PHYSIOTHERAPIST 4. SOUNDBITE WITH PHYSIOTHERAPIST 5. (SOUNDBITE) (English) MARK BUCKINGHAM SAYING: "We've had a very steep learning curve in the last few years, more of a transition from a more amateur background to a more professional background in the last 18 months. Whereas perhaps some of the Europeans, Australians, Americans have been more professional for longer, but we've been able to study the techniques that they've been using and develop them on. I think in some ways our athletes are possibly better conditioned than people abroad in various different areas". 6. SEQUENCE OF GREAVES ON TRACK LACING UP HIS SHOES AND SPEAKING WITH ANOTHER ATHLETE. 7. GREAVES SPRINTING AND HURDLING. 8. SLOW MOTION SEQUENCE OF GREAVES STARTING OFF BLOCKS. 9. GREAVES SPRINTING AND HURDLING. 10. (SOUNDBITE) (English) GREAVES SAYING: "Myself and my coach, Collin Bavel, have been doing like longer stuff so I'll be able to cope with the back end of the race from like hurdle 6 to 10 which have been letting me down 'cause I've always been able to get out of the blocks and like compete well, but I've just been running out of power sort of. So I've been doing that, and it's been tiring my legs and I'm still running P.B's (personal bests) with tired legs now my coach and myself are like bringing the sessions down and I'm also feeling mentally sharper, a lot of works getting shorter and sharper, which can only mean that I'm going to get quicker." 11. 400 METER HURDLER, CHRIS RAWLINSON, TRAINING ON TRACK. (WITH SLOW MOTION INSERT). 12. (SOUNDBITE) (English) RAWLINSON SAYING: "Mentally my event so is a very hard event. It's named the man-killer the 400 metre hurdles. So mentally repetition is the main key in 400 metre hurdles, so everything becomes autonomous. So, erm, you don't really have to think about much of it. Added to that I'm actually erm, going to be talking to David Hemery who won the 1968 Olympic Games 400 metre hurdles and he's going to be helping me out, showing me a few pointers towards the key physiological factors that he encountered and got round at that Olympics." 13. COACH, NICK DAKIN, READING LAP TIMES ON STOP WATCH. 14. CHRIS RAWLINSON CATCHING HIS BREATH AFTER RUN. 15. SEQUENCE OF DAKIN AND RAWLINSON WORKING ON HURDLING TECHNIQUE. 16. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CHRIS RAWLINSON SAYING: "My goal at the Olympics personally is to bring back a medal if not the Gold. You know I've been to championships in the past and I've just been one of the numbers in some respects, you know one of the people that gets knocked out - the shrapnel. This year, things are going well for me I'm looking to progress to the final definitely and hopefully bring back a piece of metal". 17. VAULTING POLE BEING TAKEN FROM BAG OF POLES. 18. POLE VAULTER, JANINE WHITLOCK AND COACH, STEVE RIPPON SELECTING VAULTING POLE. 19. WHITLOCK PRACTICING HER RUN UP AND VAULTING TECHNIQUE. 20. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JANINE WHITLOCK SAYING: "Hmm, it has been quite hard with it being the Olympic year and I'm not usually injured so it's, this year I've been injured, about three injuries I've had so it's been quite frustrating. I've been jumping, competing with no training and I'm still doing 4m 20 and did national record a couple of months ago." 21. WHITLOCK VAULTING. 22. SEQUENCE OF WHITLOCK AND RIPPON DISCUSSING TECHNIQUE. 23. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JANINE SAYING: "Like I say I'm a sprinter so I have the speed there and I know a couple of girls in the world are sprinters and they jump high because of their sprinting. But like I said, my technique lets me down a lot, I'm doing 4m 20 to 30 just off my speed and strength. So when if I get my technique right then I should be jumping a lot higher." 24. WHITLOCK VAULTING. 25. CLOSE UP OF WHITLOCK'S FEET SPRINTING. 26. WHITLOCK VAULTING. Initials Script is copyright Reuters Limited. All rights reserved
