Summary:In June 1963 John Profumo, British Minister of War, resigned from the MacMillan government and the great Profumo Scandal had arrived. Profumo had become involved with society osteopath Stephen Ward and a number of London call girls. For weeks, the names of Christine Keeler, Profumo, a Soviet diplomat, an alleged 'missing witness' and the vivacious Mandy Rice Davies all contributed to what became a cause celebre.
