- Story Text:U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday (May 25) took off from the Vietnamese commercial hub Ho Chi Minh City, bringing his trip to the former enemy to an end.
Thousands came out to bid him farewell as his convoy drove through the city, which was formerly called Saigon until 1975 when North Vietnamese tanks rolled in to bring U.S.-backed South Vietnam under communist rule.
Earlier in the day, Obama held a townhall meeting with Vietnamese youths, answering questions related to issues ranging from the environment to politics.
The president's next stop is Japan, where he will attend the two-day Ise-Shima Group of Seven (G7) summit. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
