Our moment was better and longer. At this level - the final, Champions League semi-final or cup final - you have your moment and you have to define it (the match). That was our problem in extra time. After the game both teams were tired. Last season we lost the semi-final against BVB and today we won. In this situation you can't control anything. And of course I am very very pleased and I commend the players above all." BAYERN MUNICH TEAM BROCHURE (SOUNDBITE) (German) BAYERN MUNICH COACH, PEP GUARDIOLA, SAYING: "We managed it again, like the first time, to keep going all the way to this cup final. Of course titles are titles, we are happy, we are pleased about this title. But above all I am pleased to have had the great opportunity to leave on this game. Every day of these three years was a great experience for me." JOURNALISTS (SOUNDBITE) (Catalan) BAYERN MUNICH COACH, PEP GUARDIOLA, SAYING ACCORDING TO ROUGH TRANSLATION: "Twenty titles in seven years, three titles in three years, it's not bad. It was a lot of effort, a lot of hard work and I had two clubs - Barca and Bayern Munich - with great players, people who make a difference and with a different type of football, like at Barca. I am very satisfied with my experience over the past three years." Something was missing for this match in my opinion. We compensated for it - that is a description, not a reproach, that is important - we compensated with passion, with hard work, with our willingness to run, with aggressiveness. And of course, we had 120 minutes of chances, big chances, to score what might have been the deciding goal." JOURNALISTS NEWS CONFERENCE IN PROGRESS (SOUNDBITE) (German) BORUSSIA DORTMUND COACH, THOMAS TUCHEL, SAYING WHEN ASKED IF HE WOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE LOSS: "Absolutely, because I should not have allowed Manni (Sven Bender) and Papa (Sokratis Papastathopoulos) to go second and third in the penalty shootout. It's on my head entirely because them, after this I would almost say battle, after the defensive performance they both put in - they were the ones who said after the second whistle 'ok, we'll do it'. And there I think I missed an opportunity to determine the line-up differently. So I am happy to take responsibility."

- Story Text: Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola said on Saturday (May 21) he was proud of his players' performance in the German Cup final, which they won against Borussia Dortmund.
Bayern beat Dortmund 4-3 on penalties, winning the Cup for the 18th time and handing Guardiola another domestic double in his final game in charge.
"I am very very pleased and I commend the players above all," the Guardiola said, adding that he was happy to be leaving on a high.
"Above all I am pleased to have had the great opportunity to leave on this game. Every day of these three years was a great experience for me," Guardiola said of his time coaching the Bavarian side.
Bayern, who also won the Bundesliga for a record fourth straight time, kept their cool in the shootout after a goalless 120 minutes with Douglas Costa beating keeper Roman Buerki with Bayern's last penalty after two Dortmund players had missed.
It was Bayern's second Cup win after they lifted the trophy in 2015 when they also beat Dortmund, while the Ruhr valley club have now lost in the final for the third straight year.
"Something was missing for this match in my opinion," Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel said, adding that he took responsibility for his players losing the penalty shootout when Sven Bender and Sokratis Papastathopoulos failed to score.
"I missed an opportunity to determine the line-up differently. So I am happy to take responsibility," Tuchel said.
For Bayern, the win in front of a roaring crowd of 74,000 people at the Olympic stadium softened the disappointment of their third consecutive Champions League semi-final exit under Guardiola earlier this month when they went out to Atletico Madrid.
The match was a farewell for Dortmund captain Mats Hummels, who will join Bayern next season, having now lost his third successive German Cup final. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
