  • Story Text:Actors, directors and jury members arrived on Sunday (May 22) for the closing ceremony of the 69th Cannes Film Festival.
    Several actors and directors had been called back to the French Riviera by the festival organisers and were seen walking the famous steps to pick up their prize during a ceremony chaired by French actor Laurent Laffite. Among them were British director Ken Loach, Canadian director Xavier Dolan, Romanian director Cristian Mungiu as well as Filipino director Brillante Mendoza.
    Seven prizes were to be handed over, including the coveted Palme d'Or, awarded by a jury presided by Australian director George Miller.
    Other prizes are the Grand Prix, Best Screenplay, the Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress.
