- Story Text: Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Mozambican counterpart Filipe Nyusi met in Beijing on Wednesday (May 18) to sign off on a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Chinese vice minister of foreign affairs Zhang Ming says the agreement will "strengthen security cooperation" in areas like "defense, maintaining stability and security."
According to state-run Xinhua news agency, Nyusi's six-day visit to China which started on Monday (May 16) was set to include bilateral talks with Chinese leaders and visit export-oriented provinces.
It's Nyusi's second time visiting his Chinese counterpart. The two held their first bilateral meeting last December in South Africa. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
