- Story Text: Indonesian President Joko Widodo met South Korean President Park Geun-hye in Seoul to strengthen relations between two countries.
The two leaders were expected to discuss ways to boost cooperation in investment and infrastructure development as well as regional and global issues, South Korean presidential office said.
"The (South Korean) President and I just shared views on boosting cooperation in the field of investment. We especially agreed to expand investment in various fields of infrastructure such as power plants, ports and railways and so on," said Widodo at a joint news conference.
"I also requested the President (Park) to open doors of the South Korean market to import fresh fruits from Indonesia," Widodo added.
Park expressed her gratitude to Widodo for visiting Seoul.
"I appreciate president Widodo for his visit to the country which paved the way to step up a close cooperation between two countries," said Park.
The two countries also signed eleven memorandums of understanding (MOU), aiming to expend bilateral cooperation in various fields including maritime affairs, infrastructure development, and trade, the presidential office said. - Copyright Holder: POOL (CAN SELL)
