- Story Text: Luis Enrique's triumphant Barcelona side paraded the Spanish league trophy through the Catalan capital on Sunday (May 15).
Jubilant fans cheered their idols with banners and flags around the bus carrying the team along with coach Luis Enrique and the league trophy.
FC Barcelona striker Luis Suarez became the hero on Saturday (May 15) after a hat-trick that led the team towards their 24th league title. Suarez finished the season as La Liga's top scorer with 40 goals, breaking Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's grip on the honour since 2009.
Despite winning a 24th Spanish title and with a King's Cup final against Sevilla to look forward next week, a feeling of deflation still lingers around Barcelona after falling short of their lofty pre-season ambitions.
They had aspired to be the first team to win back-to-back trebles and the first side to lift the Champions League two years in a row, but a sudden loss of form cost them dear. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
