- Title: Bayern Munich fans celebrate their 'buams' (boys) winning the Bundesliga title
- Date: 15th May 2016
- Summary: (SOUNDBITE) (German) BAYERN FAN EMI HASSANOVITCH SAYING: "It was great. To become champion for the fourth time (in a row). No club has managed to do that before. Well, what should I say? Unfortunately, no Champions League. Well, next year. Next season, we will do it." (SOUNDBITE) (German) BAYERN FAN ANJA SCHELLENBERG SAYING: "He (Guardiola) has had a great effect. He changed a lot. Which was not bad for some. He has found a new position. Champions League is a great pity, they fought for it a lot, until the very end. Unfortunately, it was not enough. But we will bring the German cup home next weekend." (SOUNDBITE) (German) BAYERN FAN CHRISTIAN BARTEL SAYING: "One does not always have to win the Champions League. It is more than enough to become German champion. That is the most honest and important title in the season as far as I am concerned. Champions League is (additional) luck, like the German cup."

- Story Text: Thousands of cheering Bayern Munich fans celebrated their club's players in central Munich on Sunday (May 15) after captain Philipp Lahm's team clinched their 26th German championship for a record fourth time in a row.
A bus carrying the lederhosen-clad players arrived in Marienplatz square outside city hall in the early hours of the afternoon, eagerly awaited by the fans, who had waited for hours. The Bundesliga champions took turns in holding up the trophy.
Bayern captain Philipp Lahm said that winning the Bundesliga title for the fourth time was a record that Bayern wanted to break and they were very proud of it. But, as he added, it would not have been possible without the fans. "And thank you to all of you, because the mood was sensational over and over again. Not only at Bundesliga matches but also at Champions Leagues matches," he told the fans from the balcony, before the team swayed and danced to 'We are the champions'.
And the fans waved Bayern flags and some even replicas of the trophy. Bayern will be hoping to complete the double when they face Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup final on Saturday (May 21) in Berlin. Some fans expressed hope for the future in the Champions League under Carlo Ancelotti after Bayern missed out this year against Atletico Madrid in the semi-final. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
