- Story Text: Pyongyang held a large concert marking the end of the first congress in 36 years of its ruling Workers' Party on Wednesday (May 11).
The concert lasted around three hours and was held at a large stadium in central Pyongyang.
Thousands of people attended, including members of the standing committee.
The all-girls Moranbong Band, a favourite of leader Kim Jong Un since it was formed in 2012, performed at the venue alongside the Korean People's Army State Merited Choir.
The Chongbong Band, which features a jazzy instrumental and all-female chorus, also performed. According to state news agency KCNA, the band was formed in July 2015.
On Tuesday (May 10) thousands participated a massive rally and torch parade to mark the end of the Seventh Workers Party Congress.
It was the first congress in 36 years and saw Kim Jong Un take on the new title of party chairman.
Kim also formalised North Korea's claim to be a nuclear weapons power. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
