External intervention has prevented the search for a practical and just solution which would preserve the territorial integrity of Angola and give the masses their cherished peace and prosperity. We believe the people of Angola want peace and freedom enjoy their independence. Outsiders stand between the Angolan people and their freedom. The introduction of deadly weapons puts freedom out of vision as the darkness of death and destruction falls over the territory of Angola. We believe that genuine peace can only be established in Southern Africa if independence is granted on the basis of majority rule. (indistinct) if independence is granted immediately, to Namibia, they have a formula which protects the integrity of the whole territory with the people freely expressing their views, their will, in determining the future. We, of course, will not accept a formula based on (indistinct). See that apartheid is ended with all its abhorrent practices and all its manifestations." The President of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda, has bitterly condemned foreign intervention in the fighting in Angola. He was speaking to a seminar of Zambia Defence Forces in Lusaka on Tuesday.
