- Title: DENMARK: UNDERGROUND-TRAIN ACCIDENT IN COPENHAGEN
- Date: 7th September 1973
- Summary: 1 1. Friday afternoon, one of the Copenhagen S-train rushed up into another right outside the Oesterport Station, where the tunnel started (began). One train was hard pressed up against the top of the tunnel, and many people was serious injured. The accident happened at 3.52 pm, when a Line E-train driven up in the H-train there was stopped in the tunnel. At this moment I did not know why the train has stopped on the line, and why the next train rushed up in the stopped train. There is a good possibility to find out the reason of the accident, since the driver of the E-train is only sightly hurt. He could walk away from the train. The speed in the moment of the crash was approximately 60 kilometre per hour. I am now told that 2 people was killed, and 2 seriously injured and 20 less injured. It was a luck that it happened only 8 minutes before the rush-hour traffic started. There was four wagons destroyed. Initials A part of the film inside the tunnel will turn our reddish, The film is a daylight film, and the Television using battery light did not use blue filter. It should be possible to filter it up to a nearly normal colour. EXTRA SHOT AT 9 00 PM RESCUE PEOPLE STILL WARNING ON THE SPOT. Script is copyright Reuters Limited. All rights reserved
