Khmers reentered the town yesterday, and by this morning they had consolidated positions on the eastern outskirts. The communist forces had pulled back under mortar and small arms covering fire. The Khmer high command believes the communist forces may be trying to regroup on the eastern outskirts, and then outflank the occupying Khmer forces. Several small operations were put out on the flanks this morning to prevent the road being cut further back (as in earlier battles on Highway Four, when whole Khmer companies were likewise isolated and then w???iped out). At time of leaving, mere AIC's were being moved forward. ??? Initials Script is copyright Reuters Limited. All rights reserved
