Summary:June 12 1964 - the day that Nelson Mandela and seven other men begin a life sentence for alleged sabotage and plotting to overthrow the South African government. At the Palace of Justice in Pretoria, Mandela and others from the banned African National Congress had been found guilty of planning a nationwide revolt, preparing for guerrilla warfare and an invasion.
