  • Story Text: Hundreds of people braved the rather cold temperatures on Friday (March 30) to attend a traditional Good Friday procession in the small German town of Bensheim.
    A group of amateur actors reenacted scenes from the Bible depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a tradition first brought to the town near Frankfurt by Italian migrants in the 1980s.
    This year's Passion play drew hundreds of spectators who huddled under umbrellas to watch the action.
    Christians believe Jesus Christ was crucified on Good Friday before being resurrected on Easter Sunday, which falls on April 1 this year.
