- Story Text: Representatives from the National Olympic Committees (NOC) of North and South Korea met the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) on Thursday (June 28) to discuss their joint participation at this year's Asian Games in Indonesia.
Led by North Korean Deputy Sports Minister Won Kil U and South Korean NOC Secretary-General Jeon Choong-Ryul, groups from both sides held a one-hour meeting with representatives from OCA and the Indonesian Asian Games organising committee in Jakarta.
North and South Korea are set to field combined teams in three sports -- basketball, canoeing and rowing in the Asian Games. The two Koreas agreed last week to march together under a unified peninsula flag at the Aug. 18 opening ceremony.
In February, North and South Korea fielded a combined women's ice hockey team at the Pyeongchang Winter Games and marched together at the opening ceremony. The 18th Asian Games will be held in Jakarta and Palembang from August 18 to September 2. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
