Summary:June 11 1965 - Dr. Kwame Nkrumah arrives at Parliament House in Accra to be sworn in as President of Ghana for a second five-year term. Nkrumah was then aged 56. By this time Ghana had become a one-party state, with parliament comprising 190 members, all supporters of the President.
