You know, everyone has their story to tell and I think it's great that whenever that can happen, whenever our voice can be heard, more than one voice, different voices can be heard - it's great." REEVES SPEAKING WITH REPORTER (SOUNDBITE) (English) KEANU REEVES, ON 'BILL AND TED 3', SAYING: "Bill and Ted, yeah we're still trying to make that thing. They're still working on the script. There's some new ideas, over the years it's been getting better and better and hopefully one day we can make that film." ELI ROTH AND LORENZA IZZO POSING FOR PHOTOS SOUNDBITE) (English) "KNOCK KNOCK" DIRECTOR ELI ROTH, ON DIVERSITY IN HOLLYWOOD, SAYING: "There's a very strong Latino influence in my life and we just write characters, we're not writing the Latino character. We just, I love working with Latin actors. Originally the role of Bel was not written for a Latin actor but we met Ana de Armas and we said this is it, we can work this to our advantage because Lorenza Izzo's first language is Spanish. So we threw in little Spanish things but I like that the movie has a Latin flavor, I think there's something cool about that. I like making movies that have a Latin flavor that don't point it out." LORENZA IZZO POSING FOR PHOTOS (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) LORENZA IZZO, ON DIVERSITY IN HOLLYWOOD, SAYING: "Something that makes me very proud about this film is that it is not a stereotype. It's not about a Latina and a Latino, it's just a story and the story is being told. So that's something very wonderful and then the crew and the director of photography, we're all Latinos, we're all Chilean and I find that it is very important for us to have the weight we have in this industry and that despite the fact that we're considered a minority I think we have the power of a majority and we have to make ourselves seen. So, I feel 100 percent responsible and proud to be a part of a product that is almost 100 percent Latino." - Story Text: Keanu Reeves and director Eli Roth hit the red carpet on Wednesday (October 7) for a special screening of Roth's latest thriller "Knock Knock."
In "Knock Knock" Reeves plays Evan Webber, a suburban father who stays home alone for the weekend while his family goes out of town. Webber decides to take in two stranded young women who knock on his door claiming to be lost. The women seduce Webber as he unknowingly falls deeper into their sinister plan.
The three lead female characters are played by Latin American actresses Lorenza Izzo, Ana de Armas and Ignacia Allamand. The film is co-written by Chilean duo Guillermo Amoedo and Nicolas Lopez, who are well known in their native Chile for the comedic films "Que Pena tu Vida," "Que Pena tu Boda" and "Que Pena tu Familia."
"There's a very strong Latino influence in my life and we just write characters, we're not writing the Latino character. I like making movies that have a Latin flavor that don't point it out," said Roth.
"Something that makes me very proud about this film is that it is not a stereotype. It's not about a Latina and a Latino, it's just a story and the story is being told. So that's something very wonderful and then the crew and the director of photography, we're all Latinos, we're all Chilean and I find that it is very important for us to have the weight we have in this industry and that despite the fact that we're considered a minority I think we have the power of a majority and we have to make ourselves seen," said Izzo, who is married to Roth.
Reeves, who was most recently seen in the action thriller "John Wick," took a minute to give a small update on the "Bill and Ted" franchise.
"Bill and Ted, yeah we're still trying to make that thing. They're still working on the script. There's some new ideas, over the years it's been getting better and better and hopefully one day we can make that film."
