Summary:June 30 1966 - the last day of France's membership of NATO. As the French flag was lowered for the last time at NATO bases throughout Europe, other nations prepared to pull their forces out of NATO bases inside France. One of these units was the US Air Force 513th Troop Carrier Wing. It left its base at Evreux, France, to fly to a new headquarters in England.
