- Story Text:Foreign reporters on Friday (September 7) were brought to a college in Pyongyang during a government organised tour ahead of the 70th anniversary of North Korea's foundation.
Pyongyang Teachers Training College, where students are trained to be teachers for kindergarten and primary school, has 1,500 students at the age about 20, said a teacher working there. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the college on January 16 this year.
Students were seen using VR glasses and singing at different classes on Friday.
North Korea's celebrations marking its 70th anniversary on Sunday (September 9) are expected to showcase a country that has secured a nuclear arsenal and is now focusing on developing its economy and cultivating international relations.
Sunday's events will kick off about a month of performances, as well as a trade show and other visits designed to drum up foreign investment and tourism spending in the sanctions-strapped country. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
