- Story Text: Seattle's King County Medical Examiner on Thursday (September 6) ruled the deaths of two women from Thailand a murder-suicide.
Kornkamon Leenawarat, 25, was stabbed to death on Saturday (September 1) and Thiti-On Chopechuangsab, 32, died by a self-inflicted stab wound to the chest. The two cases were connected, the medical examiner said. The Seattle Police Department said on its website there were no outstanding suspects.
Picha Pinkaow owns the Wann Yen restaurant, two blocks from the apartment where the women's bodies were found. She said Leenawarat was a customer.
"We are all deeply saddened for the loss of our fellow Thai student. She was actually one of my very good customers. She came in a couple of times and she always be polite, so sweet, and it's just, we are in shock. The Thai community is in shock that this is happening and they live right across the street from our shop," she said.
The Seattle Times reported the women were roommates who met while attending Boston University. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
