- Story Text: A crowd of music fans danced to the beat of two bands from Jordan and Egypt on Friday (September 7) where reactions of the audience gave the edge.
The bands, Shrmoofers from Egypt and Autostrad from Jordan, went on for the "Music Clash", entertaining crowds of music lovers at the Ultra Worldwide Music Festival in Amman.
"The kind of people (attending) are good and everyone is happy. They (artists) are playing different types of music that highlight different cultures. We have Sharmoofers from Egypt and we have Autostrad from Jordan and I am very happy that I am here with them," said audience member, Tala Annab.
For more than two hours, both bands battled it out on two separate stages with nearly 6,000 fans excited to stand between the two musical forces.
First, each band had to perform one of the opponent's songs. Then, both performed their own songs, but in different beats.
Sharmoofers lead singer, Ahmad Baha, believed his side had prevailed in the contest, despite facing a Jordanian band.
"The challenge is that we are playing in Jordan (and competing) against a Jordanian band. But I believe think that our audience is with us and I think we are killing it already," Baha added.
