  • Story Text: A minute of silence was held across the UK on Friday (July 3) to honour the 30 British victims and 8 others killed in the Tunisia beach attack one week ago.
    Queen Elizabeth and Prime Minister David Cameron joined in the silence. Play at Wimbledon tennis tournament was delayed.
    Flags were flown at half-mast, including at Buckingham Palace, Downing Street and other palaces and government buildings.
    The queen observed the silence during a visit to the University of Strathclyde, while Cameron was on a visit in his constituency of Witney.
    People gathered to honour the dead at football clubs and school children lined up in playgrounds for the silence.
    The 30 British people killed have now all been identified and the Royal Air Force is in the process of repatriating the bodies.
    Post-mortems will be carried out and inquests opened.
    Other victims killed in the Sousse holiday resort in Tunisia were three Irish and two German citizens, one Belgian, one Russian and one Portuguese.
